Behind the Art

King Jediah

Jediah Knight, artistically known as “King Jediah” is an artist from Sydney, Australia.

Born into an artistic family, his mother and father are both well-known pioneers of Australian hip-hop and graffiti culture. His sister is a psychedelic artist and emerging jeweller.

Jediah was always surrounded by a mix of music styles and creative pursuits, and from a young age was heavily encouraged to explore his own creativity. This upbringing shaped his interests in music, distinctive fashion and underground pop culture, all of which continue to influence his work today.

He first established his name through his work with the renowned gaming clan FaZe Clan between 2011 and 2014, during which he was known as FaZe Jedi. His later alias, “King Jediah,” was personally inspired by UK musician King Krule.

Among his lesser-known achievements, Jediah also designed the iconic Infernal cape for Old School RuneScape, the renowned MMORPG.

Jediah’s most widely recognised artwork is the iconic illustration of XXXTENTACION praying, which he created as a tribute while the rapper was incarcerated. The artwork has since become a defining image associated with X’s legacy and wider pop culture. As X’s career grew, both he and Jediah helped raise awareness of each other’s work, contributing to a cultural wave that continues to resonate with younger generations.

His work also became part of the live music experience, with his artwork featured as stage backgrounds during concert performances by rappers including Denzel Curry and Lil Pump. He also worked with Atlantic Records, with his artwork used to promote Lil Uzi Vert’s music.

Beyond concert visuals, Jediah worked with the Biggie Smalls Estate, with his artwork of Biggie exhibited among family members, celebrities and fans. He was also part of Lil Peep’s clothing label, further extending his work into fashion and music culture.

Today, Jediah’s artistic practice has evolved into 3D modelling, character design and animation. Drawing inspiration from low-poly aesthetics, stylised art and nostalgia for the early internet and 2000s culture, his current work explores original characters and distinctive visual worlds. Japanese fashion and its many subcultures, anime, and the evolving aesthetics of underground and internet culture are also major influences on his visual language.

While his earlier work established his name within rap and underground music culture, his current practice represents a continuation of his longstanding interests in music, fashion and visual expression. Through 3D art, character design and animation, Jediah continues to explore new creative directions while developing a distinctive visual identity of his own.
